So instead of making the usual resolutions I’ve decided to just try and
work with python as my sole non-work language. It’s something I’ve been
wanting to become as comfortable with as I am with Delphi but have not
yet gotten past the “keep the reference book open while coding” stage.

Normally when I’m learning a new language I have a small task or app
that needs writing and that affords me a great opportunity to jump in
feet first and learn the language. This time I do not have a handy app
(well not one that is doable in my spare time) so I’ve decided to try
and reproduce what pyBlosxom does but make it work offline and generate
static pages that are rsync’d to the server. That model fits my current
hosting setup much better than dynamic cgi generated pages currently
used.

I’ll also try and keep tabs on what I’ve done/learned/goofed here in the
small chance that someone: a) actually reads this, b) is learning python
also and c) gives a hoot what I’m babbling about.
