What not to do at 0100 hrs? Why upgrade one of your test servers to Ubuntu Dapper Drake :)

Seeing the majority of other devs I know having switched to the latest version of Ubuntu I decided to upgrade one of my test servers tonight.

Everything went pretty well I must say – but I haven’t rebooted the server yet so the real status is pendign. The packages I was expecting to have trouble with didn’t seem to cause any issues: Xorg, Open Office, Mono, Firefox, etc. But some of them did:

gcj, all things related to gcj and some older misc tools. All in all a good upgrade – heck even Tom Boy upgraded and ran without a hitch!

Oops, spoke too soon – just noticed that Open Office was removed completely! Let me try to add it back now … apt-cache search finds openoffice.org2 … wow that’s a *lot* of extra packages … installing … installing … done. Hmm, the Application->

Office icon set for it seems off – I probably skipped a package. But it’s there!

More to come later as I test build all of our OSAF packages on it.
